Verified Chemistry, Not Just a Grade Label

In stainless trading, the most expensive mistake is a certificate that does not match the metal. Nickel and molybdenum content drives the price gap between 304 and 316L, and unverified supply chains are where substitution happens. We source only from audited mills and pass the original mill test certificate, heat number by heat number, with every shipment.

Buyers in food processing, chemical handling and architectural applications specify 316L for chloride corrosion resistance. We supply both grades in cold-rolled and hot-rolled conditions, in 2B, BA and No.1 finishes.

Why the 304 / 316L Price Gap Is So Wide

The gap between 304 and 316L reference bands, roughly $1,800-2,100 versus $4,100-4,300 per ton, is driven almost entirely by molybdenum and higher nickel content in 316L. If your service environment does not involve chlorides or acids, 304 or 304L usually does the job at half the cost. If you are unsure, send us the application and we will recommend the grade before quoting, not after.
